Training for Webelos
On December 5, 2015 the Cub and Tiger Scout Pack #239 (Ware, Ma.) participated in a modified CPR & First Aid response training program. The program was designed to teach the scouts how to recognize medical emergency situations and how to provide lifesaving information to emergency medical responders. Three of Venture Community Services’ professional development trainers provided demonstrations on how to respond to medical emergencies such as heart attacks, strokes, choking, poisoning, and controlling bleeding.
In order to earn a certification of completion and a medal of commendation, each scout had to navigate an obstacle course which featured a variety of medical challenges. At each station, scouts were required to explain to a trainer how they would assist or support the victim in that particular medical emergency. The Pack Troop was successful in completing the obstacle course and show cased their ability to respond to and properly report a medical emergency.
Venture Community Services is proud to have worked with the Ware Cub & Tiger scout group and we look forward to any opportunity to provide continued support to the community.
